Montgomery, Alabama, the site of many important events during the Civil Rights Era. One can walk the few short blocks between where Mrs. Parks boarded the bus to the site where she was arrested, leading to the Montgomery Bus Boycott and increased national/international attention to the urgency of positive social change. At the site where Mrs. Parks was arrested, there is now an excellent museum (run by Troy University) dedicated to her life and the legacy of the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
